MIND IN MERIDIANS (MIM 302) PDF Print E-mail

(modules previously called Mind in Meridians 1, Mind in Meridians 2, Mind in Meridians 3)

The science of acupuncture is based on the theory of Qi and the metaphysical energy channels that run throughout the body supplying cells, functions and organs with vital force. The depletion or over stimulation of these channels is seen as the fertile cause for disease or disability. Imagine the organs of the body as factories that manufacture and supply essential commodities for society. Continually apply too much energy to the power grid and at best the electrical equipment within the factory will start to fail, the worst scenario being complete power failure. Apply too little energy to its power grid and the factory will be unable to meet its own energy needs or commitments to supply essential commodities. Mental attitudes and emotional reactions are energy producing or energy draining. Depression for example, is obviously energy draining whereas love is energy producing.

A multitude of mental attitudes and emotional reactions affect the Qi at different acupuncture points and meridians. The topical application of flower essences has numerous benefits to problems of Qi, providing fast effective relief for acute physical and mental/emotional ailments. It is particularly advantageous when used in medical environments such as hospitals that often prohibit the ingestion of natural remedies. It has proven to be invaluable therapy for body workers, acupuncturists, naturopaths and massage therapists.

The cosmology and qualities of Vital Force are outlined in both a macro (universal) and micro (individual human) context before each of the 14 major Meridians of the human structure are studied individually and in depth from a psychological perspective. Diagnosis consists of both observation/assessment of mind/body symptoms plus advanced Body Scanning and Therapist Attunement Techniques. The practical aspect of work with Meridians includes knowledge of the pathway of the Meridians and how to find it when utilising them for diagnosis.

CHAKRA MERIDIAN INTERFACE (CMI 301) PDF Print E-mail

(module previously called Archetypal Mind and Genetic Patterning)

In this module the yogic science of Pranah, Chakras and Vrttis and the traditional Chinese science of the Qi, Meridians and Acu-points is presented together to show their influence on and connection to each other in the subtle human anatomy. Both systems, when understood, offer an insight into the way the mind governs an individual's vitality, health and well being. This module is directly related to the Mind in Meridians and Mind-Body Interface Modules, where the psychology of the Meridians and Chakras are studied individually. Practical workshopping in this module enables the student to integrate all the assessment and therapeutic techniques into a dynamic whole.

IN DEPTH MEDITATION AND METAPHYSICAL MIND (IMM 301) PDF Print E-mail

(modules previously called Integration of Consciousness and the Quantum World, Interface of East, West and Indigenous Science)

This module takes the student on a journey to understand the conceptual universe of the human being and their relationship to the animate and inanimate external environment. Concepts in the mind are seen as more than just bytes of information but dominant drivers of behaviours and therefore the basis from which we perceive our experiences of life, our sense of reality. Working with a person’s conceptual universe a therapist can ascertain internal blockages in the healing process and trigger a pro-active rather than obstructive response. The Yogic framework of the layers and sub-layers of mind enable a detailed view of an individual’s internal world and the mechanisms that propel a person into embracing transformation rather than remaining in negative states of being. In the paradigm of present day holism, the human is seen as trifarious being of body, mind and spirit; during the course students develop an understanding of how to work with these aspects in a meaningful and pragmatic way. Through deep meditative processes a person can unlock their reservoir of potential and transform old or create new concepts needed to achieve their desired healing outcomes. Through learning meditative techniques the therapist also enriches their own resources of healing and growth.
